Quarter-Mile Times

 

Here are the quarter-mile times my truck has posted.  All times have been run at the Moroso Motorspeedway (link is on the front page), which is in north-western Palm Beach County, Florida and sits at about 10-15ft. above sea level.  Since I live in Miami (about 100 miles away and $10 in tolls), trips to the track are infrequent.

Track Visit # 1- First time to the track.  Truck was equipped with a Chrysler 8.25 rear-end, and 3.21 open gears.  The only modifications done to the truck at the time was the cold-air intake, the Flowmaster Muffler and some Mopar Performance 7.5mm wires.  The truck was running on Michelin LTX M/S 235/75R15 tires.

Track Visit # 2- Truck had been modified with Genuine Gear 3.90 gears, a Dana Trac-lok differential, and Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (235/70R15) tires.  The truck was also upgraded with the JBA Y-pipe and a V8 throttle body.  Track temperature was around 45deg.

Track Visit # 3- Truck had been modified with a Superchips programmer.  Track conditions were about 65deg., but I kept having problems putting the truck in second gear (I could get the truck out of first gear, but not into second).  I think the problem has to do with the transmission fluid being too thick (75W90).
